An ancient north Pembrokeshire oak tree has been deliberately damaged with a chainsaw on a rural B-road.

The tree stands on the minor Blaenffos to Crosswell road, near Crymych.

Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that the tree was damaged by a chainsaw sometime between August 28 and 30.

"It was partially cut with a chainsaw, with the result that it is now in a dangerous condition," commented a police statement.

"Anyone with information should contact PC Lewis 308 at Crymych Police Station on 101."
