Cardigan and North Pembrokeshire's Amnesty International group are holding their annual Tea Party

On Sunday 19th May, Cardigan and North Pembrokeshire's Amnesty International group are holding their annual Tea Party at Clynfyw Care Farm, Abercych, north Pembrokeshire.
As with other years, there will be a plant sale, book stall, live music, a farm tour, tea/coffee and amazing cake. Running from 2-4.30. Its not to be missed.
Amnesty International is a UK based international non-governmental organization focused on human rights. It has over 10million members around the worked and its mission is to campaign for a world in which 'every person enjoys all the human rights enshrined on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments.' These rights are being challenged now more than ever before.
Clynfyw Care Farm is home to ten adults with learning disabilities and day service to dozens more. To support the work of Amnesty International, one of the Clynfyw residents, Steven Galloway, has set himself a challenge of a 50hour sponsored silence, hoping to raise funds to support those silenced for their political beliefs. Starting at 12pm on Friday 17th May, Stephen is determined not to say a word until 3.00pm on Sunday 19th in the middle of the tea party. 'A lot of people will be wanting to trip me up and make me speak,' said a very determined Stephen, 'but I won't. I'm going to do it.' 'A lot of people are wishing that he'd stay silent for a lot longer,' said James, another resident. 'Only joking! It's great what he is doing. Good on him!'
