College students discover 60's icon
Forget Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter. There’s a different American singer song writer being played by the students of Pembrokeshire College, the Gammy award winner, Carole King. Best know for hits such as, ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’ & ‘You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman’ this May, Level 3 Performing & Production Arts students will take to the stage and tell the story of this American icon. Beautiful, The Carole King Musical tells the story of Carole King as she attempts to make it as a singer songwriter in a male dominated industry. We follow, her highs, her lows, her loves, her losses all to the soundtrack of a generation. The performance promises to be ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’!
Johnny Lock, Director and course lead of Performing & Production Arts course said ‘It’s been wonderful to watch so many young people fall in love with these 'Beautiful' songs from the 60’s. We can’t wait to bring this production to life and share this story with the wider Pembrokeshire community.’
Beautiful, The Carole King Musical, will be on at The Merlin Theatre, Pembrokeshire College from 13th – 17th May, 7pm.
