Eluned Morgan named First Minister of Wales

Eluned Morgan named as First Female Leader of the her Party
She will be the first woman to lead her party following her selection earlier this afternoon.
The announcement was made just after 3pm today (Wednesday, July 24).
Eluned Morgan will succeed Vaughan Gething who resigned from his post as leader of the Welsh Labour party.
Ms Morgan, 57, a former MEP and member of the House of Lords was brought up in Cardiff, and has been MS for Mid and West Wales since 2016.
“I am truly honoured” Eluned Morgan commented following the announcement.
“At this pivotal time for our country, strength, stability, and unity will be my guiding principles. I want to ensure that everyone in Wales has the opportunity and ability to fulfil their potential.”
