Free Mental Health First Aid Training, Crymych

Football Association of Wales and DPJ Foundation to offer a new free Mental Health Awareness training starting at Crymych Football Club - 6pm on Monday 30th September 2024
A new sports and rural mental health awareness training course is being launched at Crymych Football Club on the 30th of September - 6pm. The Crymych football club has its new clubhouse at Crymych Arms when club members and supporters put in funding to buy the old pub in October 2023.
The training that the DPJ Foundation has been working on with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) will focus on mental health and wellbeing. The first training event will be held at Crymych as part of the roleout of the training support to sports clubs and rural communities
The training is free of charge and lasts between 1.5-2 hours. It covers the following topics:
- What is Mental Health?
- How common is poor mental health
- Stigma
- Causes and spotting signs
- Suicide awareness
- Talking and listening tips
- Signposting and self-care
- Creating the right culture
The training is designed for members of sports clubs to support themselves and each other. It is a very worthwhile training course for those who coach or captain teams or who are responsible for wellbeing.
