Happy Halloween, Tenby

Medieval Gates, Cymanfa Ganu, Gaming Club, Harold Fry, Beer Festival, Stackpole, Trick or Treat Trail, Pumpkin Cooking and Craft Day, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Autumn Fayre and Kindness Awards.

The Medieval Gates of Haverfordwest.

On Friday 20th October, the Arts Club is pleased to have Simon Hancock talking about the medieval gates of Haverfordwest. The talk will start at 7pm, entrance is £5 or £3 if you are a member of Tenby Arts Club. Membership is £10 annually, due now. There will be tea and biscuits after the talk. Everyone is welcome.

Cymanfa Ganu

In the Old Chapel on Lower Frog St at 7pm, there will be a Cymanfa Ganu. Join in singing the hymns of Wales, everyone is welcome.

Tenby Gaming Club

This is for everyone who enjoys playing computer games or boardgames and anyone who would like to have a go. It is in the De Valence Pavilion on Tuesday 17th October from 1.30 to 4.30pm. Everyone is welcome, entrance is £2 and there are lots of consoles and games available. There is also a selection of board games to choose from. Come along and see what the fuss is about, or play your favourite games with your friends. Everyone is welcome.

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

Films4Tenby will be showing the poignant drama The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (2023, 102 mins, cert 12) on 24th October with the doors opening at 6:30 and the film starting at 7pm.

The film is based on the 2012 novel and stars Jim Broadbent as Harold, a retired pensioner who receives a letter from an old friend who is dying in a hospice and then decides to walk the length of England to visit her. Penelope Wilton co-stars as Harold’s wife Maureen.

Admission is £5 on the evening, £4 for Members, £10 for a Family of Four.

Tenby Beer Festival

This will be on October 27 to 29th in the De Valence Pavilion. It is run by the Round Table with all proceeds going to charity. There will be live music and the Rugby World Cup Final. with beer, cider and prosecco available. You can get tickets from buytickets.at/tenbyroundtable .

Tenby Arts Club presents Tudor Thomas speaking about Stackpole.

On Friday 27th October, Tudor Thomas will give a talk to the Arts Club at 7pm in St Johns Church Hall. Everyone is welcome. Entrance is £5 or £3 if you are a member and includes tea/coffee and biscuits afterwards.

Trick or Treat Trail.

On Saturday 28th October there will be a trick or treat trail around the Tenby shops. Start at 5.30 at Fecci’s chip shop and follow the trail to collect individual Halloween treats kindly donated by each establishment.

Holiday Bible Club

From Monday 30th October to Thursday 2nd November from 10 to 12 each day, there will be a holiday Bible club at the Old Chapel in Lower Frog St. There will be stories, quizzes, songs, videos, craft, games and more. It is free and everyone is welcome!

Halloween events.

On October 31st there is a Pumpkin Day at Augustus Place Community Hall from 11 to 3pm. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge, and you will be able to sample and cook some delicious recipes with the insides of your pumpkin, and then carve your pumpkin if you wish. There will also be plenty of Halloween arts and crafts to do.

At Tenby Museum at the same time, there is a Celtic Halloween event with storytelling, crafts and more.

From 2pm until late, there will be a Halloween party in the Dog Home, with free entry.

Films4Tenby present the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

On 31st October at 7pm in the De Valence, the Rocky Horror Picture show will be screened. Everyone is welcome, especially if they are in costume. Entrance is £5 or £4 if you are a member.

Autumn Fayre

On Saturday 4th November at St Mary’s Church House, there will be an Autumn Craft and Vintage Fayre from 10am to 4pm. Entrance is free, come along to find a crafted gift or vintage treasure.

Tenby Community Kindness Awards

These are the first ever, and you can make your nominations from the form in the Tenby Observer, or you can pick one up at the Observer office, the Town Council office in the De Valence Pavilion of the Old Chapel on Lower Frog St. Entries need to be in by the end of the month as the award ceremony is on November 17th.
