Hayscastle Show.
--
Hayscastle Show Committee recently held a presentation evening to hand over a
cheque for £950.00 to Shalom House, this charity was chosen by 2022 Show
President Mr John Jenkins.
Shalom House is in St Davids, it was set up in 1997, their mission being to provide
accessible, excellent holistic palliative care to all residents of Pembrokeshire,
diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, in a homely, clean and professional place,
catering to the individual needs of clients, whatever they may be.
Hayscastle Show was held last August, on a very hot summer’s day.
Not being able to arrange a Show the previous two years, it was wonderful to hold
our event again and the whole community being able to get together and enjoy.
With the very hot weather, horse entries were down, also the dog entries. The show
committee and stewards worked hard in very difficult weather conditions to make
sure that the day went smoothly.
For the first time, there was no entry fee into the show field only donations.
The Sunday before the show a Service to bless the show was held at Noddfa
Newton Chapel, where the collection from here was added to the donations from
the gate and entries from the dog show, which amounted to the fantastic sum of
£950.00.
Sam Wilson-Croft, business manager for Shalom House gave a talk on their work,
the cheque was presented to her by John Jenkins, he said it was a privilege for him
to present her with a wonderful sum of money, and thanked her for all the hard
work that Shalom do.
Hayscastle Show committee are now working hard for this year’s show which will
be held on Saturday 12th August, with a warm welcome for everyone to come
along
