Local Artist of the Week: ALEX JOHN-DUARTE

Alex John-Duarte is a young singer/songwriter from Mathry who has just released a 7-track EP titled 'My Home'. All the tracks featured this week are taken from it.

Whilst at university in Bournemouth Alex performed with his own band but since returning to his home county he has begun performing solo once again. He will be playing a show at St David's Boia Festival next month.

Alex's songs, which range from slow ballads to more uptempo rockers, deal with personal, emotional themes that have a general significance. He is especially interested in the contradictions inherent in the longing for home - hiraeth - and the desire for discovering new places and people.
