Local Artist of the Week: SHANTY LE HARA

Local Artist of the Week: SHANTY LE HARA
--
Shanty Le Hara are Pauline Le Britton (vocals/guitar), Sharron Harris (vocals/guitar/banjo/mandolin), Jayne O'Hara (vocals/violin/mandolin), Barney Griffiths (violin), and David Griffiths (double bass).
They've been playing together for around 10 years and describe their music as "an eclectic mix of Folk, Bluegrass, Americana, and a whole lot of Gypsy - buskers at heart".
This is the first time they've made a recording (apart from a live session on the BB Skone Show) and it is a seven track album called Fall Up, Fall Down (also the title track which was written by Geraldine Murphy, the 'sixth band member') and it is a mixture of originals and covers. The album was recorded and produced by Jayne's son, Louis O' Hara, who is himself a musician of note and who contributed music to the soundtrack of SCAM, the feature film made during lockdown in and around Fishguard.
Shanty Le Hara's music is a beautiful, harmonious, and delightful sound guaranteed to uplift even the most jaded of spirits. The between track banter from the recording studio enhances the sheer loveliness of their shenanigans.
