Local Artist of the Week: VIC ARNOLD

Local Artist of the Week: VIC ARNOLD
Vic Arnold is a guitarist, singer and songwriter who lives in St Ishmaels and is often to be seen and heard playing in his local area at low key gigs and open mics.
It wasn't always thus. Many years ago, when living in west London, Vic was the bass player with The Detours, a band that went on to call themselves The Who. After that he joined the Lorne Gibson Trio, also on bass, one of the UK's pioneering Country bands of the early '60s. The trio was very popular on TV and radio, issued many records, appeared in films, and toured widely, even working with The Beatles and Johnny Cash.
Vic has retired to Pembrokeshire. "Life is quieter now" says Vic, "but I'm still hooked on music and have been since I discovered my granny's record player as a kid".
Most of the songs played this week are taken from Vic's 2018 CD release, 'Old Letters'. He also played a live session for the BB Skone Show a few years ago when he reminisced about his life in music including the time he shared a dressing room with The Rolling Stones. "Mick Jagger had very pale legs!" Vic quipped.
