Narberth development proposal opposed by town nursery

An application to build three new detached houses in Narberth town centre has prompted strong opposition from one of the town’s children’s nurseries.

Noah’s Ark Childcare, which is situated in the former United Reformed Church in Tabernacle Lane, fears the proposals will be detrimental to its business as well as to other premises in the location.

The nursery claims the proposed development would ‘massively threaten’ the health and safety of its staff as well as the children and parents who visit it on a daily basis.  It claims the nursery already has issues with access as a result of its location in the centre of town.

The nursery also states that the new development would undermine the Grade II listed buildings which are located in the area.

Hayston Developments and Planning Ltd, who are agents for the applicant, state in the planning documentation that the proposal would involve up to three dwellings being built on a parcel of land  at the rear of Llwynon, 61 St. James Street.  The development would be accessed via a private lane which leads off the western end of Tabernacle Lane, close to its junction with James Street
