New dog grooming parlour given heads-up in Narberth

There will be some very proud pooches strutting around Narberth this summer after a dog rescue worker's request to approve a grooming salon in the town centre has been given the nod of approval.

Abigail Wooding, who specialises in dog rescues, requested permission to set up a dog grooming facility over two floors of a retail business unit to the rear of a Grade II listed property at 2, High Street, Narberth.

Work on the new dog grooming area and 'finishing off room' together with a shop counter, soundproofing and a dog bath had commenced in May.

Abigail has been running her grooming business from Kooky Poodle in Robeston-Wathen since 2021, where she specialises in working with fearful dogs, or dogs that have gone through trauma or abuse.  She works with them on a one-to-one basis, and ensures that all grooming areas are kept as quiet and as calm as possible with a strict no barking or high noise policy.

The application has been conditionally approved by Pembrokeshire County Council's planning committee.
