Pembrokeshire animal sanctuary granted approval by county planners

A Pembrokeshire animal sanctuary which is being run for ex-battery hens and other disabled animals has been granted approval to stay open by county planners.

The sanctuary, which is situated near Tegryn in Llanfyrnach, applied for a retrospective change of use of two of its outbuildings to provide accommodation for an animal sanctuary.

The application was submitted by Aaron Player.

The sanctuary currently operates with two full-time and two part-time workers.  It is understood that the outbuildings were adapted to operate as an animal sanctuary in late 2023.

No objections were raised to the retrospective application from its statutory consultees, and the application was conditionally approved this week by Pembrokeshire County Council planning officers.
