Pembrokeshire archer makes history by striking Paralympic gold

Pembrokeshire archer Jodie Grinham made history this weekend after becoming the first athlete to win two Paralympic medals whilst pregnant.

The Haverfordwest-born archer secured a gold in the mixed pairs wit Nathan McQueen, while two days earlier she won a bronze in in the women's individual compound open.  Her wins came as she repeatedly asked her baby to stop kicking.

"The baby just hasn't stopped," laughed Jodie following her win. 

"But it's been a real honour knowing that the baby's there and is just a reminder of the little support bubble that I've got in my tummy."

Grinham, together with her team mate Pheobe Paterson, both narrowly lost their respective individual semifinals, with Turkey's Oznur Cure Girdi winning the gold and Iran's Fatemah Hemmati taking the silver.
