Role - Support Worker – Various hours available

Location - Awel-Y-Mor, Saundersfoot

Salary - £11.25 to £11.80 per hour dependent on experience

Full Time : 38 hours per week
Part time: up to 32 hours per week

Night time: 35 hrs per week waking nights 4 nights on and 3 night off on rota
Bank: 0 hours (Choose how often you work)

Full time staff work a variation of morning shifts, afternoon and evening shifts, with some long day working across 7 days of the week, with more weekends off than in!

About our home Awel Y Mor

At Awel y Mor we support adults with complex needs associated with autism. We embrace sector-leading practice and blend education, care and therapeutic support to provide tailor-made placements for unique individuals.

Awel y Mor has the true feel of a family home, offering a balance of learning, leisure and life skills, and is a place that puts people at the centre of their own progression pathway and development. Awel Y Mor (3 bedroom residential home), is an established home to 2 people who have lived there since 2019, and we hope to welcome a 3rd person in the next few months.

This home is based in the beautiful, bustling, and popular village of Saundersfoot with the beach on its doorstep.  Our residents are incredibly active and really do take full advantage of their location relishing an active outdoor lifestyle and no day is the same.  They enjoy all types of activities from cycling, bowling, hiking and a good pub lunch meeting the locals and being a part of their local communities.

Each person living here has their own Individual Support Plan, providing you with all the knowledge and information you need to be able to support them effectively, in a way they have chosen to meet their own personal goals and outcomes.

Awel Y Mor wishes to welcome anyone with a warm caring ethos, and a pro-active approach in their way of working to join their experienced staff team, to help make all of the above come true.

Should you be successful at interview, you will be required to complete a DBS application and attend our paid 6 day induction training prior to you starting at the home.  On starting in the home you will shadow the current staff team and meet the people living here, to ensure you feel confident and quickly feel part of the team!

A typical day will include:

  • Providing high quality bespoke care to the people we support, including keeping accurate records.
  • Ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met through a supportive and caring environment, and that it feels like home.
  • Being a positive role model to the people we support and promoting their independence through a range of activities.
  • General housekeeping duties, including meal preparation and elements of personal care.
  • Having fun with the people we support!

  • The ability to work flexibly and reliably as part of a team.
  • Previous care experience is preferred.
