St Davids is officially one of the most eco-friendly cities in Wales after being awarded the Plastic Free Community Award by Surfers Against Sewage.

The award follows two years of committed work between EcoDewi, St Davids Council and other organisations whose sole drive has been to reduce single-use plastic in the city and also raise awareness of how this can be achieved.

The team has confirmed that this is just the beginning of their drive as they continue to work with the community to reduce the impact of plastic and waste on the environment.  As a result, individuals, businesses and other organisations are being urged to get involved to reduce the city's plastic usage even more.

They have also begun working alongside the communities of Solva and Llanrhian to ensure their efforts are extended beyond the city's boundaries.

Pictured are the representatives and some of the business and groups which have been involved in the Plastic Free St Davids campaign being presented with their certificate by the ayor of St Davids, Cllr Bira Sehmi.
