St. Patrick's Day Boozy Irish Cream Chocolate Cake

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day I have made this boozy Irish cream chocolate cake! Super easy and perfect for a grown ups party or an afternoon tea with a twist.  My recipe this week on Lawrie's Lifestyle Show 12-3pm ☘️

Irish Cream Chocolate Cake - contains alcohol

Ingredients:
200g - self raising flour
225g - caster sugar
25g - cocoa powder
100g - margarine
2 large eggs
5 tablespoons of Irish cream liqueur
5 tablespoons of cold water
Few drops of vanilla essence
Pinch of salt

Icing:
60g margarine
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
250g icing sugar
3 tablespoons of Irish cream liqueur
1 tsp vanilla essence

Method:
Step 1 - heat oven 180c or gas 4 - grease and line 2 x 18cm tins - not loose bottomed

Step 2 - mix flour, sugar, cocoa and salt together then rub in the margarine

step 3 - stir in the liquor, eggs,  water and essence and beat well

Step 4 - place in tins and bake for approx 30 minutes

Step 5 - place all the icing ingredients together in a bowl and beat until smooth

Step 6 - when cooled sandwich together and decorate as you wish with the icing! Leprechauns are not essential
